Jonathan Bartley, a Co-Leader of the Green Party, came and visited Aylesbury Vale yesterday. We took him to visit Kingsbrook estate where we were given a talk and walk around by Barratt's Daniel Poll and Mike Pollard from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. We were impressed with provision for hedgehog movement, bat boxes, swift boxes built into house walls, house martin nests, sustainable water features and many positive ways of improving the diversity of wildlife in the area. Thanks to Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and the RSPB for their time.
We then took Jonathan to Haddenham by way of Waddesdon Greenway and showing him where HS2 will cross the A41. In Haddenham, after tea at Tickety Brew, Jonathan took to a bike and was guided around by Councillor David Lyons. He visited the Community orchard and the new greenway as well as seeing some new housing developments. Later Jonathan gave an interview on BBC 3CR.

In the evening Jonathan gave us an inspiring talk which was well attended. We hope to see him in Aylesbury Vale again before long.
