Selection of candidates for the next General Election

A General Election has to be held sometime up to January 2025. As yet, we do not know when!  In order to be ready when it is called, Milton Keynes Green Party (MKGP) and Aylesbury Vale Green Party (AVGP) are working together to start the process for selecting candidates for the new 'Buckingham and Bletchley' Constituency.

Members of both local parties will be able to nominate and to vote in the ballot for candidates for the Buckingham and Bletchley Constituency.  This is your chance to stand for election as a Green Party parliamentary candidate.

The Nomination Statement and Signature forms to be completed for the nomination of candidates are here, together with a Candidate Job Description. Any current member who may wish to put themselves forward is encouraged first to read the latter guidelines and then to complete the two forms for the constituency in which they wish to stand (n.b., supporting members can only propose one nominee each).

Note that the deadline for submitting completed nomination papers is Friday 27th October.
Members will then be informed of the voting process.

We are hoping to be in a position to hold a hustings to coincide with the MKGP AGM, set for Friday November 3rd - provided we have suitable candidates lined up for the constituency. So, if you're interested to stand, don't hang around - get moving.

If you have any queries, please feel free to contact the Green Party Electoral Returning officer (ERO) for the constituency, Peter Skelton ( peterskelton361@gmail.com ).

Aylesbury Vale Green Party members will receive similar invitations for candidates for both our other constituencies, Aylesbury and Mid Buckinghamshire, in the near future.
