Green Councillor Gregory Smith asked the Council Leader what provisions are being made when the Household Support Fund is cancelled by the Government.  Given that there is no provision in the budget, Gregory asked, will the Council press the Government to continue this vital lifeline?

Greg explained,  “The Household Support Fund (HSF) has been instrumental in supporting families during the financial crisis. Families who need to put food on the table, unpaid carers who cannot afford their energy bills and helping people get control over escalating debt.”  

Please contact your MP to ask for an extension to the HSF.
