The Green Party has selected Councillor Gregory Smith as their Mid Bucks parliamentary candidate for the coming election.

He will be up against Greg Smith, the current MP for Buckingham. Green Party Greg has lived in Haddenham, Bucks for over 25 years and has been involved in setting up and developing a range of community projects including a community owned business.

So, what's the difference between Green Greg and Conservative Greg? Conservative Greg Smith consistently votes in parliament against actions to address climate change. Green Greg Smith says 'the Tories use the language of climate change but are backing away from their commitments. If you are serious about the looming climate crisis you need to support the Green Party'.

The Green Party is strongly pro-Europe whilst Conservative Greg Smith MP campaigned for the UK to leave the EU.

Green Party Greg Smith is committed to local business and strengthening local communities, Conservative Greg is part of a government that has consistently cut funding to local authorities, centralising control in Westminster and leaving councils financially vulnerable.  Councils have to cut important local services such as bin collection, street lighting and adult and child social care. Conservatives will not provide the essential funding for this.

And... Conservative Greg Smith spoke in parliament to cut funding to the United Nations Relief Agency in Gaza, the biggest agency providing relief to avoid starvation and unimaginable suffering in Gaza.  Green Greg Smith is calling for a ceasefire in Palestine and for every effort to be made to protect innocent civilians.

It makes sense to support Green Greg and not allow the country, and the world, to descend into greater chaos.
